The complex that forms Cape Parry and much of the eastern peninsula of Traill O is approximately 10 km in diameter and consists of peralkaline syenites and granites intruded into upper Jurassic and Cretaceous marly shales which have been variably metamorphosed. The syenites and granites form two bosses and three arcuate zones, the outer one of which Schaub (1942) considered to be a ring dyke. Rock types identified from in situ samples include aegirine-riebeckite granite, and quartz-aegirine-riebeckite syenite, while beach pebbles include aegirine granite, quartz-riebeckite syenite porphyry and a spherulitic riebeckite trachyte (Tyrrell, 1932, p. 527).

Age:
K-Ar gave 40.3±1.2 Ma (D. C. Rex, quoted in Gleadow and Brooks, 1979, Table 4).
