An oval-shaped intrusion of 1.8x1.4 km cuts Devonian sandstones of the Furnas Formation and is covered with a lateritic soil averaging 55 m in thickness. The principal rock types are carbonatites, carbonatitic breccias, ijolite, monchiquite and silexite. Fenites take the form of albitites and syenitic breccias. The principal carbonatite is beforsite, but sovite and ferrocarbonatite are also present, composed of dolomite, calcite, ankerite and siderite and including baryte, opaques, rutile, pyrochlore and RE minerals.
