Country:
Sudan
Region:
Bayuda Desert intrusions
Location:
Longitude: 32.12, Latitude: 18.03
Carbonatite:
No

This is a heavily faulted fragment of a ring structure which is covered by Nubian Sandstone on its northeastern side. The intrusion consists of peralkaline or biotite granite in the northeast and syenite in the southwest. The southern area is composed of felsite porphyries and the western part of basement rocks, hybrid biotite granite and trachyte dykes.

Age:
A date of 233±5 Ma was obtained by Rb-Sr on a single sample of granite (Barth et al., 1983).
