An oval, 500x300 m plug of olivine basalt is in an area brecciated and veined by carbonate which Jacobsen and McCarthy (1975) consider to be carbonatite. There is an extensive area of sodium metasomatism associated with this igneous centre. The general consensus is that the carbonate is not carbonatite (W.J. Verwoerd, pers. comm., 1995).
