This is a large volcano lying immediately south of the Limmo peralkaline granite (Fig. 72). It is principally of basaltic composition but rhyolitic products are found in the central parts, as are intermediate lavas, indicated on the 1:500,000 geological map (Barberi et al., 1971b) as being "dark trachytes, mugearites" and "hawaiites, andesine basalts, ferrobasalts". Descriptions of the rhyolites have not been found but they are likely to be peralkaline.
