Completely surrounded by basaltic lavas of Manengouba (No. 26), which lies to the north, Mont Koupe consists predominantly of quartz syenites with a little gabbro on the northern margin and minor granite. The syenites consist of abundant quartz, perthite and, in various combinations, arfvedsonite, riebeckite, aegirine and biotite.

Age: 
A Rb-Sr whole rock isochron gave 46.4±1 Ma (Lasserre, 1978).
