Hossere Nyore is a multiple granite intrusion of 10x8 km. The principal rock is a coarse biotite granite and the youngest granite contains albite, biotite and riebeckite. The peralkaline granite has sharp contacts with the earlier granites. A little cassiterite and possible columbite have been found in the riebeckite granite (Lasserre, 1978).
Age:
A Rb-Sr age based on biotite and whole rocks of 550 Ma is reported by Lasserre (1978).
