Strelka is an intrusion of nepheline syenite of about 1 km diameter which cuts Archaean gneisses and Cambrian dolomites. The nepheline syenites have a trachytic texture and are formed of alkali feldspar (27-60%) and albite (17-36%) with some aegirine/aegirine-augite and nepheline and accessory magnetite, titanite, apatite, anatase, garnet and sulphides. The nepheline syenites are often albitized and in such rocks accessory eudialyte, apatite, zircon, ramsayite, baddeleyite, lamprophyllite, loparite, lomonosovite, Ca-rinkolite and labuntsovite are to be found.
