The 3 x 6 km massif intrudes a schist-carbonate sequence of Upper Proterozoic age as well as granitoids. The intrusion comprises mainly peralkaline syenites with trachytic textures and small nepheline syenite bodies, with a maximum size of 250 x 900 m. Masses of ijolite-melteigite occur within the peralkaline syenites and are cut by nepheline syenite veins. Xenoliths of country rocks are common. Dykes, stocks and veins of fine-grained granite, aplite, granite porphyry, syenite porphyry and granite pegmatite are widespread in the massif. Chemical compositions are given by Sharackshinov (1984a).
