Proterozoic sandstones and schists are partly covered by talus deposits in which large blocks of nepheline syenite occur. The nepheline syenites comprise nepheline, feldspar, hornblende, clinopyroxene (diopside, aegirine-augite) and biotite. The accessory minerals are ilmenite and apatite and secondary minerals include muscovite, analcime and chlorite. Chemical compositions of rocks are given by Andre’E v et al. (1969).
