This complex, which is composed of gabbro-anorthosite, essexite, shonkinite and pyroxenite, lies within Precambrian gneisses, migmatites and marbles. It is cut by dykes of syenite and syenite-diorite. Pegmatitic granite and metasomatic diopside or phlogopite rocks are widely developed.

Economic: 
Phlogopite has been mined since 1947 and lazurite is also extracted.
