This symmetrical stock of 4x3.5 km cuts Proterozoic marbles and schists. Lower Proterozoic gabbro and diorite containing xenoliths of marble are also present. The principal rock type is biotite syenite with some quartz but miaskitic nepheline syenite also occurs and contains hastingsite, diopside, augite, garnet and nepheline.
