Semenovskii occupies an area of about 6 km2 and is surrounded by volcanic rocks of Devonian age. It comprises several stocks, sills and dykes composed of melteigite, theralite, nepheline monzonite, nepheline syenite, dolerite and calc-alkaline and peralkaline syenites.
