Situated 4 km north of the Urukit intrusion Kyndyn forms a complex stock of 0.5x0.8 km which is oval in plan. It was formed during three intrusive stages. The early melanephelinites (melteigite porphyries) are composed mainly of clinopyroxene (70-80%) and minor olivine (0-5%), titanomagnetite, phlogopite, apatite, titanite and perovskite. These rocks are cut by a plug of ijolite in the centre of the intrusion and by an arc of the same rocks in the west. Veins of alkaline and nepheline syenites were formed during the last stage.
