Popovka consists of small, composite, differentiated intrusions in the form of stocks up to 100 m across. They are variable in composition and consist of tilaite (a gabbro with 80% of dark-coloured minerals), gabbro, dolerite, quartz-bearing syenites, nepheline syenites and alaskites.
