These volcanoes are accompanied by lava flows which extend for about 70 km. Two stages of effusive activity are separated by an interval that is indicated by the presence in the sequence of conglomerates. Compositionally the lavas are mildly alkaline basalts with about 5-6% normative nepheline (Dovgal and Chasovitin, 1965).
