The 2 km2 Aksai intrusion lies within Carboniferous sediments and consists of nepheline, nepheline-analcime and cancrinite syenites and syenite porphyries. The mafic minerals are aegirine, arfvedsonite and biotite. The intrusion is accompanied by teschenite, camptonite, trachyte and essexite dykes.
