Syenite, quartz syenite, granosyenite and associated rocks including quartz monzosyenite and amphibole-biotite granite, are components of the South Kalchik complex. The syenite-granosyenite series also includes small amounts of gabbro and peridotite rich in apatite and ilmenite, gabbro-norite, plagioclasite and granitoids of the rapakivi group containing fayalite and ferroaugite. Alkali pyroxenes and amphiboles are found in some rocks.

Age:
A maximum age of 2105 Ma was determined by K-Ar on amphibole from granosyenite (Sherbak et al., 1978).
