Only 0.2 km2 this intrusion cuts Permian granites and sedimentary rocks of upper Carboniferous age. There is a broad skarn aureole. It has a layered structure and consists of nepheline syenites, which are often markedly porphyritic, peralkaline syenites and ijolites. The syenites are cut by syenite porphyry veins up to a metre across.
