The 30 km2 Batpak intrusion is situated in the Chingis-Tarbagatai region and is composed of peralkaline quartz syenites. These consist of microcline perthite, albite-oligoclase, quartz, riebeckite, aegirine and biotite with an abundance of accessory minerals including magnetite, ilmenite, titanite, zirkelite, orthite, apatite, zircon, rutile, monazite, thorite and fluorite. Dykes are of aplite and granite porphyry.
