This occurrence is situated between mid-Palaeozoic sedimentary rocks and granitoids of upper Palaeozoic age. Peralkaline granites, which comprise most of the intrusion, form a stock the form of which is complicated by numerous faults. The principal rock types are riebeckite and biotite-riebeckite granites, which sometimes grade into alaskites. The marginal zone is composed of porphyritic granites and granite porphyries with micropegmatitic granites and aplites forming dykes and veins.
