Drilling in the Jackson Dome has encountered numerous occurrences of igneous rocks, many of which are alkaline. Aegirine tinguaites with subhedral nepheline and a little sodalite and hauyne have been found (Moody, 1949, p. 1416) and in the Hamilton No. 1 Well near Jackson a tinguaite with analcime, apparently primary, together with melanite, sphene and apatite, was identified. In three wells nephelinite dykes containing euhedral nephelines with some pyroxene and amphibole were cored.
