A plug 5 km in diametre located just west of Betsioky (Besairie, 1969b) consists of basanite and tephrite (Nicollet, 1984), which is confirmed by a rock analysis, referred to as limburgite, in Lacroix (1923). A smaller plug is located some 10 km to the south-southwest which is likely to be of a similar composition.
