This 8 km diameter volcano is part of the Bambouto (No. 23) volcanic field, lying on the eastern side, and comprises about 35% basalt and the rest rhyolite. The rhyolite contains abundant quartz and perthitic alkali feldspar phenocrysts with rather fewer of sodic amphibole and an opaque phase.
