This occurrence has an area of about 30 km2 and principally comprises shonkinites with subordinate peridotites. The shonkinites are composed of augite, bronzite, barkevikite, biotite and orthoclase. The accessory minerals are magnetite, ilmenite, titanite and apatite. Although this intrusion is not strictly alkaline in character traditionally it has been included with the alkaline series.

Age: 
Geological data indicate an Ordovician age.
